Hamilton launches international fundraiser for abortion access in USA and Europe

Lin-Manuel Miranda and his award-winning musical Hamilton have launched a new international fundraising campaign – #Ham4Choice – supporting abortion funds in the USA and Europe.

The fundraiser calls on fans to donate (from $10), for the chance to win tickets to the opening of Hamilton in Hamburg, tickets to London and New York shows, and meet-and-greets with cast members and a reception with Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Funds raised through #Ham4Choice will support abortion funds in the USA and Europe, including Abortion Without Borders members the Abortion Support Network and Ciocia Basia.

We are beyond thrilled to have been selected as one of the abortion-supporting organizations that will benefit from this campaign. With restrictions to abortion rights happening in the US, it’s easy to forget that there are countries in Europe with equally draconian abortion laws. The abortion fund movement is global and we are stronger together.

In addition to the funding, we hope that this stunning act of solidarity from Lin-Manuel Miranda and Hamilton will strengthen the pro-choice movement across Europe. At a time when our friend Justyna Wydrzyńska is facing prosecution for helping someone access an abortion in Poland, it’s incredible to have the unapologetic support of the Hamilton team.
